13/6/2008Pupils Bid To Put Brakes on Drivers
A GROUP of Glasgow primary pupils went on the march to call for drivers to slow to 20mph around schools.
The children from St Ninian's, Knightswood, were taking part in an initiative organised by Brake, the road safety charity.
More than 14,000 youngsters across Scotland took part.
Department of Transport figures show nine child pedestrians were killed and 237 seriously injured in Scotland in 2006, the latest year for which figures are available.
