19/5/2008Knightswood Primary School Recycled Bottle Greenhouse

The Primary 6 children of Knightswood Primary School are recycling their plastic bottles in a new and exciting way!  All the children in the school have been bringing in 2 litre round plastic bottles in preparation for the construction of a recycled bottle greenhouse on Wednesday 28th May in the school playground.  The children of the Eco Committee have been coordinating this project and we have secured the help of Abbey (the building society) to construct the greenhouse.  They help local organisations through their charitable trust and allow their employees to volunteer with various worthwhile projects.  The recycling centre at Dawsholm have also been very supportive and are helping us collect the 1,500 bottles we need to build our greenhouse!  We are very excited about our project and will keep you posted about our progress.
