22/5/2008Knightswood Primary 5 Children meet Children's Laureate, Michael Rosen.
By Muriel Webster:
Thanks to the fantastic poetry skills of Lucy Kelly, the children of Knightswood Primary School P5a have a lot to smile about. Lucy's amazing poem won a national competition and the prize was an audience with Michael Rosen for her whole class. The children and their teacher, Myra Martin, were over the moon to win and had a brilliant time listening to Michael Rosen's hilarious stories. To end this great day out all the children had a book signed by the Children's Laureate.
They returned to school suitable inspired and immediately got to work on their next poetic masterpieces. Myra Martin has always placed great value on poetry and over the years she has encouraged the children in her classes to enter many competitions. This has resulted in a number of the children's poems being published. Well done to Lucy, Mrs Martin and all the children of Primary 5.
